Odo Fioravanti and Pedrali among the ambassadors of Made in Italy
Triennale Design Museumwith Centro Cultural La Moneda and Universidad del Desarrollo present for the first time in Chile an upgraded and updated 2013 edition of The New Italian Design exhibition at Centro Cultural La Moneda, Santiago, Chile from December 6th 2013 until March 30th 2014.An overview on contemporary Italian design that explains and describes the transition of the movement and its links with economic, political, and technology changes that occurred over the past Century.The exhibition presents works from 133 designers with 288 projects. It includes 189 designers for product design, 28 for graphics, 28 for objects linked to the body like jewelry, handbags and accessories, 7 for research, 32 for food design, 4 for interior design.
Among the designers that will represent Italy,Odo Fioravanti will attend with two chairs designed for Pedrali, the Italian design manufacturing company that celebrates its golden jubilee this year.The gallery will display Frida, the chair made of oak that was awarded with XXII Compasso d’Oro ADI Award in 2011 thanks to its sculptural beauty and Snow, made of polypropylene reinforced by glass fibres that won Young&Design 2008 award for the meticulous use of the gas air-moulding technology.
Triennale Design Museum, the first museum of Italian design, is directed by Silvana Annicchiarico, and has organized this exhibition to analyze, value and promote the new Italian creativity.As a travelling exhibition, The New Italian Design was presented in Madrid (2007), Istanbul (2010) Beijing and Nantou (2012), Bilbao and San Francisco (2013).
