It is a great pleasure for Pedrali to welcome Eugeni Quitllet, one of the most representative names in the contemporary design panorama. The Spanish designer is collaborating with the company on the occasion of the 57th edition of Salone del Mobile. The new artistic and design partnership is being realized with the manufacture of two new products, the result of a stylistic research capable of involving shapes and materials.
Pedrali chooses Eugeni Quitllet as the brand is fully sharing his philosophy: the products designed by the Spanish who is winner of the award "Designer of the year" in 2016 originate from the research for emotions and are inspired by the desire to make something that will last over time, both concretely and stylistically, a strong point and indispensable requirement for the Italian company's products.
The partnership is therefore born of a mutual enthusiasm, as Quitllet states: «the desire to create something new with different materials, which had a history and values, arose after a first meeting two years ago. The strength I saw in Pedrali was the intensity and the desire to realize this dream together».
Born in Ibiza in 1972, Eugeni Quitllet graduated at Llotja Art School of Barcelona, he loves to define himself as disoñador, a neologism that derives from the union of the words designer and soñador. His activity is mainly aimed at the world of industrial design and among his creations there are objects characterized by the combination of elegance and sinuosity. His gaze is oriented to the future and his inclination leads to the creation of objects-sculptures able to play on the empty-full contrast.
Quitllet has received numerous awards and recognitions at international level, such as the Good Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award, the German Design Award, the special mention of the Compasso d'Oro and, in 2016, the designation of Designer of the Year on the occasion of Maison & Objet.
