The new collections of the company at the Parisian event
Pedrali, Italian leading company producing design furniture for public spaces, offices and homes, returns to Paris for the 2019 edition of Maison & Objet, meeting point of home decor and interior design experts, from 18th to 22nd January. The setting of Pedrali (Hall 6, Stand I2 J1) located inside Today Hall, the section dedicated to interior design that combines originality and innovation, pays tribute to the Italian company's "latest good ideas" with an installation that is both a product spectacularization and draws inspiration from an object as charged with meaning as the light bulb, which becomes a communicative and architectural element.
The stand, designed by the Milanese studio Calvi Brambilla, forms a single, highly architectural volume, marked by longitudinal and circular openings strung with light bulbs and it is dominated by the colour blue, a clear reference to the company's two-year advertising campaign. The reference to theatre is immediate: round and rectangular platforms edged with iconic light bulbs, where “director” Pedrali will stage a brand new show featuring the company's latest products.
Inside the exhibition space, special attention is given to the new collaboration with the Catalan designer Eugeni Quitllet, with his two new products, stemming from a stylistic research involving shapes and materials. Soul is a chair in wood and polycarbonate that expresses an idea of uncontaminated creativity. Soul has received the Special Mention of the German Design Award 2019 in the Excellent Product Design Furniture category. Remind is an innovative polypropylene armchair in which each element has been measured to ensure total comfort and cosiness. There are also two new projects by the French designer Patrick Norguet. Fox, an elegant armchair, instantly recognisable, its outline stands out for its harmonious mixture of materials and contrasting geometric lines and Vic, a collection of comfortable and simply elegant upholstered seatings. The exhibition continues with Tribeca, by CMP Design, an outdoor seating collection that is a modern reinterpretation of classic Sixties patio chairs made from steel and woven material. Elliot tables by Patrick Jouin, with their minimal design, match some of the showcased collections. Elliot has received the German Design Award 2019 in the Excellent Product Design Furniture category. Boxie is a modular, versatile and colourful storage system with wheels designed by Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci designed to be configured differently according to the selected combination of its elements; the Ray freestanding coat stand by Pio and Tito Toso flaunts a truly fluid design that accentuates the beauty of a natural material like ash wood.
There is a wall, characterized by a great central porthole strung with light bulbs, which separates the exhibition space from the lounge area, the latter furnished with a red carpet that contrasts with the blue walls. Here it is possible to sit on Jazz upholstered armchairs, combined with Fluxo tables by Luca Casini, or to take a break on Buddy, designed by Busetti Garuti Redaelli, the collection of comfortable, versatile and functional poufs with generous backrests.
